nikon-f35-type-a-camera-strap
Nikon F36 Type A Camera Strap

Take a close look at the image here of the new old stock Nikon F36 battery pack with its gold box packaging and extremely scarce dedicated strap. This unique Nikon strap has not two but THREE split rings. The idea was that one split ring would be clipped onto the special lug on the hefty battery pack whilst the second, free floating ring would be attached to the right hand side of the body with the third ring attached to the left hand side of the body.

The idea of the free floating split ring was simple - and crucial to the long life of the standard lugs on the body. If the camera and attached F36 motor drive are suspended just from the body lugs, the motor and hefty battery pack put a great deal of strain on the body lock-up and undue wear on that right hand lug. By attaching the strap first to the heavy battery pack and then stabilising the camera's forward and back tilt by running the strap through the split ring on the body, the heavy F36 is properly supported and everything rendered handy and very stable.

This crucial set-up has been lost in the mists of time and most F36 set-ups these days see the strain of carrying straps that are attached only to the body.

Please save your precious F36 set-up with our dedicated Strapateer.

Our unique F36 strap has the same free-floating split ring as the Nikon original - so that the body can be easily separated from the motor to load the film... But we have also developed the strap one stage further. By the inclusion of a secure locking buckle on the strap, it is possible with our strap to quickly slip the strap out of the buckle and the split ring on the battery pack and then relink the buckle and use the strap on the camera without the motor.
