The Type C is designed for carrying two cameras - one above the other. The Type C uses the thicker 1" strap of the B along with the B strap's double snap-link set-up.
The Type C has unique extensions which can be adjusted for length by using the additional slip buckles on the extensions. This allows individual height adjustments of two 35mm or digital cameras - to accommodate, for example, the supplementary viewfinders so often used on film and digital Leica cameras.
One 35mm/digital and one Medium format camera can be carried in the same way. The ‘Type C’ is very popular with street shooters who want to carry two cameras with different focal length lenses - for example: a 35 and a 28 or a 35 and a 90.
The Type C wasn’t around when the legendary Jim Marshall was photographing Woodstock with his five Leica M4s strapped around him… He had to make do with taping together two straps. We guess he would have appreciated this Type C strap - as would photojournalists like the great Horst Fass, who caught so many extraordinary images during the Vietnam war.
Unclipping one set of extender straps allows the user to carry just one camera when a second is not needed. The strap is supplied as standard with 35mm lug fitting split rings to carry two 35mm or digital cameras. If you need the option of one 35mm and one Hasselblad or one 35mm and one Rolleiflex, please select the correct option when you buy. Please further note - if you need extra strap variations, we can supply these. For example: maybe you shoot with two Leicas but also want the option of shooting with a Leica and a Rolleiflex... In this case, order the type C with the double 35 option and an extra set of straps - email us with your camera type requirement for the additional straps. We can make up straps for pretty much any camera - film or digital. Additional sets are £35 a pair.
The upper set of straps are slightly shorter than the lower - would you like upper or lower? The idea is that the upper is the first to come off the set up, so if this is the camera you want to replace with the other camera you are going to have on the spare set of straps, then order the spare set in upper - shorter; otherwise go for the longer, lower straps as a spare set.
