After a great deal of development and quite a few prototypes and field trials we are now very proud to present the Strapateer Photojacket and Photovest.
This is a product designed specifically for the serious photographer and filmmaker - whether you work in digital or film; standard, medium or large format, this jacket and independent vest liner have got it covered. Lightweight but very sturdily constructed, the jacket and vest are designed for a rugged life. The jacket is highly water resistant and very comfortable and flexible in use.
On the outer shell of the jacket is a chest pocket and then four other deep and very useful pockets; in the upper section of the jacket are two hand warmer pockets - big enough to take a pretty large collection of whatever gear you need to carry and access quickly. The lower halves of these pockets are free-floating from the jacket so that when they are full of gear, they will slide over the lower pockets rather than cramping down on your legs when you are sitting down. And the lower pockets have the same sliding design... Which makes the jacket incredibly comfortable in action and when seated - even when fully laden.
Inside the jacket is a huge pocket that extends all the way around the base of the jacket. Inspired by the game pockets of old school hunting jackets, we decided to include this pocket for its very useful capacity. We have found the pocket really useful when trekking around with the jacket full of 4x5 dark slides... And, for filmmakers, the pocket is also useful for things like scripts and Ipads... This pocket has zippers at either end, which allows it to drop down to sit on when the only alternative might be a cold patch of ground.
Sewn to this big inner pocket are two more cargo pockets - one on either side of the jacket; designed to securely carry phones, passports, documents etc. These pockets both have very handy pen holders as well.
Underneath the hand warmer pockets are elasticated loops for your film (you can use our nice waterproof tins) and SD and battery supplies.
The back of the jacket has a half belt to hold its shape and a very nice bi-swing design - for maximum flexibility when you are hunkering down to take shots. This design is complimented by the diamond reinforcement patches on the sleeve elbows.
The jacket is double-lined and rainproof. A generous, button-on, fully detachable hood adds to the weather protection and a corduroy collar and cuffs keeps the jacket feeling rugged but comfortable.
The Photojacket will be available in Black and Khaki Green. There is also the separate winter liner in the form of a quilted vest with pockets that can be worn under the jacket or as a separate item.
The jacket is sized for a loose but structured fit - allowing comfort when it is packed with photo gear... And also allowing for the jacket to be buttoned over your cameras when the weather hits. And, of course, on the shoulders are our popular buttons to stop your camera strap slipping off the shoulder.

Check your measurements using the guidance of the image of the chart and/or with a garment you already find comfortable wearing (please remember the jacket is generously cut for comfort and load carrying capacity. If in doubt, choose a size up - not down!) Please double the chest measurement to get your chest size - since the measurements here are from armpit to armpit on one side with the garment laid flat. Example: the pit-to-pit measurement on the Medium is 60cm - so 60cm x 2 is 120cm... Meaning that the Medium jacket has a chest size of 120cm or approx 47"... Which may sound very generous for a Medium - but remember that this is a lined jacket designed for a loose but generous fit - great for wearing over the quilted vest or other medium weight stuff.
