After years of searching for the perfect vest, I decided to design, develop and manufacture our own - because all those commercial camera vests are always so horrible and 'lumpy' with their rigid, boxy pockets, oversize zippers and velcro... I found it just impossible to find something discreet enough to wear under a jacket but which could also be loaded to carry the kind of photographic payload and other stuff needed for travelling.
You will find our vest perfect on the street or on even the most rugged of locations. It has three large expanding pockets that you can load with camera bodies, lenses or whatever else and then above are two smaller pockets to carry film or SD cards. Inside the vest are two large and secure pockets for phones, pens and papers...
It is a whole new design with great storage space in all the pockets - obtained by making the pockets expandable by means of a 'bellows' type pocket style. The vest is very discreet and slim when worn under a jacket - perfect for those times you find yourself moving through an airport and want to use the vest just to securely hold your passport and other documents. Once you get to work you can fill the expanding pockets of the vest with all the camera gear from your photo-bag and get shooting! The back of the vest has a larger document pocket for maps, oversized notebooks or film script pages - which a lot of our filmmaker friends love to use when they are shooting a film. The vest is made of high-grade military cloth with contrasting stitching in the classic style and will gradually take on a lovely time-worn fade with washing.
It has buttons at the shoulders to stop camera straps slipping off. The inside pockets also have pen holders. The upper pockets on the vest are designed to exactly fit the tins that our Type A straps are now supplied in... So the Type A tin can be repurposed to be used as a film safe for 35mm, 120 or SD cards carried in the vest.
The photovest features:
- Three large cargo pockets to hold cameras and lenses

Sizing - the vest is loosely cut so that you can fit plenty of gear in the pockets. BUT please think about how you want to use/wear this vest; if it's T shirts / shirts / or other light garments to be worn under it, you can go for something closest to your actual chest size (depending on just how bulky the stuff is that you want to fill the pockets with..!) But if you are more in the habit of wearing a vest like this over heavier garments, think about maybe ordering the larger size.
Chest measured across the garment, from armpit to armpit is 58cm on the Large and 55.5cm on the Medium...
Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Avoid bleach. Air Dry. Iron on low to medium heat.
...Or you can dry clean.
